Advanced Training Programme
Entry to Art Academies in China
For Students
Age 12 and above
The training programme is designed base on the content of the admission examinations of China Academy of Art, Central Academy of Fine Arts and other major universities. The programme follows the admission standards for the universities intake in China. We analyses all the past examination questions of major art academies and design institutes in recent years, and conducts regular mock exams for our students. Our professional instructors will introduce the current situation of China art scenes to help students analyse and select suitable majors.
Our students will be able to equip themselves with the knowledge of using applied digital media , as well as the practice of hand applied techniques. Through the intensive training of life drawing, students will strengthen their technical skills in pencil sketching and oil painting.
Art & Design Portfolio Development Programme

When students apply to a degree in subjects like fine art, graphic design, fashion design, and other hands-on disciplines at overseas art school, presenting a portfolio is the core of the application. A portfolio is compose of a collection of works based on the individual artistic style and creative concept.
Every students have to prepare a 'visual diary', documenting how their skills and ideas have developed over time. It demonstrates their creativity, personality, abilities and commitment, and helps the admission team evaluate a student's potential.
This programme provides one-on-one portfolio counselling, we focus on the content and the layout design of the portfolio. Students are taught to apply digital imaging and video editing techniques for a professional presentation. After understanding the admission criteria of the art schools, students can determine the theme for the first draft of their portfolio.
During the production, students are encouraged to explore their concepts with a diversity of art media. The finished product and the typesetting will be refined according to the style of the institutions, then finally the students will submit the portfolio online or showcase their collection of works for interviews. A portfolio with personalities can effectively improve the impression of overseas universities towards the candidates and enhance the chances of a successful admission.

Internal Examinations for the purpose of Secondary School Places Allocation (SSPA)
The advancement programme is taught in small groups or one-on-one by experienced art mentors. According to the requirements of the local schools, the visual arts department guides students to experiment with a variety of painting tools to apply the different types and materials of painting skills, thus improving the overall painting ability. On the other hand, the instructor will guide students to analyse the theme of painting creation for the subject of visual arts examination, cultivate their thinking ability in artistic creation, and improve the test scores.
Secondary School Visual Arts Programme
This programme is designed for students selecting visual art electives in secondary school (DSE, IB, A-level). Learning activities should be designed in accordance with the Four Key Learning Targets; developing creativity and imagination, developing skills and processes, cultivating critical responses and understanding arts in context. Considerable efforts should be made to integrate art appreciation and criticism with art making to achieve the aims of Visual Arts Programme.

Developing creativity and imagination Through active participation in art appreciation, criticism and making, students will develop new and different ways to enhance their power of imagination, creative thinking and presentation skills. Students can use visual arts to express themes and topics related to themselves, their surroundings and the works of other artists.

Developing skills and processes Students will learn to use visual language, different visual arts forms and a variety of materials and techniques for visual arts making. They will develop their skills in using verbal language to describe, analyse, communicate, and carry out a dialogue as well as develop a positive attitude for continual exploration and experimentation through the process of making, illustrating and presenting their artistic ideas.

Cultivating critical responses As students learn to understand works of visual arts, they acquire the abilities to give critical, informed and intelligent responses based on a well-explored background of information about the artwork, the artist, and just as importantly, with reference to their own experience, training, culture and personal judgment.

Understanding arts in context Students will learn to understand the meaning and value of works of visual arts in their own and other contexts including the art historical, personal, social, cultural, ideological and political.

This course is a one-to-one small class for students in the secondary school visual arts examinations. It teaches the painting techniques of the examinations and expresses the analysis, interpretation and evaluation of the artworks in writing. Linking personal appreciation of art to individual artistic creation, helping students explore, select and manipulate appropriate visual language, media, materials, tool skills, techniques and images to be the art at DSE, A-level and IB Good grades in the specialist exam.
